Accepted a few weeks ago to Nursing!
I’m from Massachusetts and got an $11,000 a year scholarship
Sat: 1260/1880
Gpa: 3.6 weighted (but continuously going up since soph year and senior year gpa is around a 4.0)
-2 APs this year

Decision: Accepted
Major/college: Business Administration (although I plan on duel majoring in computer science when I get there)
State: NY

Decision: Accepted
Major/college: biology / school of arts and sciences
State: CA
GPA: 3.1
SAT: 1840
Varsity crew, dance and cheer, loads of volunteering
… I’m thinking the state of provenance might have helped …

D accepted a few days ago.

Major/college: psychology/cas
State: CT
GPA: 3.7
SAT 1820

any EA merit scholarship notifications. Admissions blog mentioned they are going out this week and can be seen on application status website. Nothing new when I access website…

Daughter in MA received letter with scholarship award today: $11K/year.

Son just received Presidential of $11k/year. I’m in shock. 1750 SATs, average ECs, no community service, and a 3.68 GPA with only 4 honors classes and only 1 AP. School does not rank, but his unweighted GPA puts him in top 10%. I really don’t get it. Others have posted higher stats and received $10k or less. It appears UVM looked mostly at the GPA perhaps?..I guess the less rigorous/higher GPA route paid off. From RI

D also received presidential scholarship but $10k/yr. Stats were similar to your son geeps, 1820 sat 3.6 gpa uw, all honors classes, no ap’s, lots of ec’s. From CT. Weird how its so random with what they are giving out.

Decision: Accepted with a $40,000 presidential scholarship(:
Major/college: Physics but trying to switch into Civil Engineering
State: CT
GPA: 88.4
SAT scores: M: 630 R:600 W:560 so 1790

looking at last year’s thread, UVM did up the merit aid. Most were posing Presidential Scholarship award between $5k-$7k last year, $10k-$11k this year.

D ended up getting notification of honors program, and then we got a letter about scholarship $.

Decision: Accepted
Major/college: Anthropology
State: Hispanic CT
GPA: 3.7
SAT scores: 1860
$10,000 Presidential Scholarship

accepted =)
state- CT
gpa- 3.4
sat- 1750
$4,000 scholarship

Deffered:

State- NY
GPA- 3.3
SAT- 1740

admission process seems way too random, just look at the previous 2 posts

I think class rank must’ve had a lot to do with merit money. I got $7,000 a year and people with similar or slightly lesser stats consistently got $10-11k. I really could’ve used the money, too :/

GPA: 3.7 uw, 3.95 w
SAT/ACT: 1850/27
Class rank: Just inside the top 30%
Tons or ec’s, sports, and leadership, and all honors classes with 5 AP classes.

Decision: Accepted
Major/college: Mechanical Engineering
State: CT
GPA: 4.073 (weighted)
Rank: 9th
SAT scores: 1990

I also got accepted with a $11K/year Presidential Scholarship. Although its funny because neither the letter with login information and pin nor my actual acceptance letter have come in the mail yet. O.o

Login info was in email.

I haven’t gotten an email, either. I think they just forgot…

Accepted as a VIP Candidate today.

It’s my safety, but I haven’t had word on merit aid though…they say that VIPs get it in the mail with the formal letter of admission. (I checked online)

Just curious, academically, is UVermont better or UMass Amherst?
