I haven’t heard either…VIP Application complete since 10/31. Engineering School applicant
This is very frustrating! I don’t know whether I should call them or not. I was hoping to hear by Thanksgiving.

ACT 29
Strong GPA in STEM classes
Working toward Engineering Certificate and HS diploma
Strong EC - Captain of Varsity Soccer, Club Soccer for 5 years, Founder/VP of School Club, tons of Community Service

I spoke with admissions today and they said that they are backed up, partly due to Super Storm Sandy and partly due to a higher than normal amount of VIP and EA apps. My daughter’s VIP app was complete about 5 weeks ago and they said she will hear by mid-December…just have to hang in there.

Decision: Admit, VIP Candidate
Application Complete Date: November 12
Decision Released Date: November 21
Region: Pennsylvania
College: Arts and Sciences

Has anybody from the Southwest heard back yet? I applied VIP on the 31st and my application status has been complete for over 3 weeks now. Im in Arizona.

Daughter is from New England, status complete for 5 weeks, no decision. Told yesterday they would 'try" to get her a decision soon. I think the rolling decisions are the most anxiety producing decisions. A couple of daughter’s friends have heard already.

I was accepted last week (Nov. 20th? maybe? not sure, sorry) and i think i sent the app on Oct. 29th. VIP & EA.

3.76 GPA UW, 4.3 Weighted, IB Diploma
SAT: total 2150, CR&M 1420, CR: 730 W:730 M:690
some extracurriculars, but not a lot
From NYC
dept: undecided, i think

Has anyone heard about the Honors Program? If so, how long after you got your acceptance? I really like UVM but it may be more practical to go to michigan or wisconsin… HP would be a great bargaining chip :)

To thegirlwhowaited, you should be admitted to the Honors College. My daughter is a freshman at UVM in the HC, and she and her friends in the program are convinced that high test scores are a requisite to admission. A strong GPA is also important, but she has friends who did well in their high school courses but don’t test particularly well and they did not get offered HC admission. Doing well your freshman year at UVM does allow you to apply for sophomore admission to the HC. Her HC letter came in the mail a week or two after she received the online acceptance to UVM. It was a key factor in her choosing UVM over other options.

Here’s to the kids who don’t have 4.0s or 2200 SAT scores.
Decision: Accepted, VIP App
3.25 GPA
1750 SAT
I took a couple of AP classes Junior year and am taking 3 now. I’ve got a job and participate in two sports. I encourage everyone to go visit the campus because it is pretty sweet. The skiing is going to be one of the best parts.
