Any input for mechanical engineering?

Virginia Tech has a better rep, is more well-rounded, has sports, better m/f ratio…
The only way it loses is proximity to a major city.

lockn just wondering what state u are from? cause im in new england im not sure if virgina tech has a better rep then WPI

I live between Virginia Tech and WPI. VT seems to be more well known for engineering, and WPI for computer science maybe?

I definitely hear about research from VT more.

VT is a larger school, and many of the intro courses are quite large. Once you get into your major, the classes do get smaller, and you get to know your professors better. WPI is a smaller school and perhaps doesn’t have the same sort of core requirements that everyone has to take at VT, regardless of major. This is intended to produce a more well-rounded graduate with a “touch” of a liberals arts background, so to speak. You can compare campuses, creature comforts, male/female ratios, cost, location, and variety of courses within a major and make a decision based on the most important things to you. Both schools are good.
