Virginia Pre-Med Choices?

<p>I plan on going to school in state pre-med. Out of all of the universities in VA, are there any known to have good departments with high admissions into medical schools, or just generally good science/medical programs?</p>

<p>I know VCU's medical school is nice, I just don't know if there're any advantages or disadvantages to any of the schools in my area. Should I apply somewhere with a lower average GPA for an easier time, or does that not really matter?</p>

<p>I don’t think you can go wrong with studying pre-med at VT, UVA, or W & M.</p>

<p>Or any other reputable Virginia school. Remember that medical schools, especially state schools, are looking at your state of residency, followed by grades and MCAT scores, letters of rec, your ECs and (except in the case of UVA) your commitment to serving the residents of the state.</p>
