While there is a good change ill get into UVA, there is also that small chance of getting rejected. So, what are the schools that you applied to instate that acted as safety schools during your application process? I only know of George Mason that can act as a real safety.

JMU, VCU, ODU, Va. Tech (non-engineering), UMW are some to consider.

With your numbers and in state status JMU, Tech (non-engineering), and UMW are all safeties. You don’t need to apply any lower.

can you guys rank which school is best amongst them all? including george mason

Tech, JMU, and the rest of them are mixed up behind them.
it depends on what program you’re applying to.

Totally depends on what you’re looking for. UMW is best at liberal arts; JMU is best at both liberal arts and business; Tech is best at engineering. All depends on what you want to do.

alright thanks guys. Im looking to go into business so JMU would be my option but most likely i will transfer from JMU to UVA if i get declined.

I’d agree with that. And you truly are a sure fire admit at JMU.

and who knows, you might like jmu. my friend cried for days when she got rejected from uva but now she’s really happy at jmu.

Tech (both engineering and non-engineering), GMU, JMU-- Are actual safeties.

Radford, CNU, ODU and the likes can’t be considered safeties, someone applying to UVA wouldn’t be seriously looking at these schools.

Don’t know what your actual stats/activities are, but I’ve attached a link to a previous discussion regarding JMU admissions. How you compare to this student I don’t know but I think it’s a mistake to think of any Virginia state school (other than Radford et al) as a true safety.
