Virginia Tech admissions

What are the chances of my daughter being admitted to Virginia Tech for Early Decision?

Her stats:

White female from Roanoke, Va area
SAT: CR 640, Math 660
SAT II's: US History 750, Math II 680
ACT: 34
GPS: 4.0 UW, 4.2 W
AP: World History 4, APUSH 4, ENGL/COMP 4, CALCULUS AB 5

If she’s got a 34 ACT and a 4.0, she should be shooting higher than VT. But yea, very good chance.

Thanks! Virginia Tech is her (& our) first choice, though.

For the kids in my high school… Virginia Tech & UVA are really hard to get into and almost elevated to the status of an Ivy. They are the hardest admissions school, other than William & Mary, that any of our students apply/get in to.

With that being said, all of her stats look really good. I’ve lived her my whole live and am very familiar with VT, and I know a ton of people who have went there and absolutely loved it. She should get in with no problem as long as she has some volunteer or work experience, basically just anything extra that would look good.

Her ACT is the score to send when applying to her schools, since it is the stronger of the two. VT is an excellent school. Why not be in the upper echelon academically? Some kids do better in that environment. If by chance she’s majoring in Engineering, it is highly rated.

Volunteer/work experience doesn’t matter. VT is extremely numbers based. I’d be pretty shocked if she didn’t get in.
