Virginia Tech Architecture... What are my chances?

Hi everyone! My top school is Virginia Tech because I really want to major in architecture. I’m pretty confident that I can into Virginia Tech as a University Studies major (undecided), but the architecture program is really competitive and I was just wondering, in your opinions, what my chances are.
I’m an instate student, by the way.

Looks like you are a very competitive applicant for Virginia Tech, and likely for admission. That’s all I can tell you, not sure about their architecture program… What are your AP scores? SAT IIs? Your GPA seems fine for VT and your SAT is above VT average.

If the architecture program is very competitive I would bring up your SAT if you are concerned. Any ECs related to architecture? How do you know you want to do architecture?

I took the ACT and am awaiting my scores. I don’t have any ECs specific to architecture, but I have worked on programs at home just for fun. I like science/math and art so I thought the variance in my application would match me well for architecture.

Okay, I wish you luck with ACT scores!

And you’re right, math+science+art is a good match for architecture

What is your unweighted GPA? They will look at that over weighted. It could be helpful if you have a portfolio that you could put together from your art club. A strong showing on your ACT scores would help. And being in-state will be a positive. Good luck!

My school doesn’t give us our unweighted GPA and it isn’t printed on our transcripts from my county. What kind of things should I put in a portfolio? I have artwork, but nothing specific to architecture. Thank you!

Update: I got in!!!
