Virginia Tech (CS) vs Texas A&M (CS)

My son, an international student has undergraduate offers from Virginia Tech and Texas A&M (College Station) for CS Major.
Cost-wise, both are almost the same.
Ranking-wise also, both are almost the same.
Not sure about the difference in job prospects.

Any suggestions on which one to choose, advantages and disadvantages.
Thanks for your input in advance.

At both schools, the student enters as engineering undeclared. Getting to a major requires a secondary admission process. The big difference is that at VT, a 3.0 college GPA automatically admits to the major of choice. At Texas A&M, the needed college GPA is 3.75. Students below the automatic admission threshold face competitive admission for the remaining space, if there is any (there may not be much remaining space, if any, due to the popularity of CS).

So the chance of an intended CS major actually getting into the CS major is much lower at Texas A&M than at VT.

Outside of what UCB said above, the schools are very similar. If you asked me what is the most similar school to TAMU, it would be VT.
