I turned in my Early Decision application to Virginia Tech and was deferred. The only thing I can spot as a weak spot is my GPA, which will go up this year. Any suggestions?

Here is my resume:

GPA (weighted): 3.6791 (On 6 point scale for past 3 years and this year we include plus and minus grades)

Class Rank: 86 out of 418

SATs:
Critical Reading: 660
Math: 630
Writing 640
Total: 1930

ACTs:
Composite: 31 (Although Virginia Tech appears to only look at the following two)
Reading: 31
Math: 28

Extracurriculars were great (NHS, Key Club, 5 Leadership positions in clubs, founded a club, Cross Country and Track Captain, Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track for 3 years, AP Scholar, Supervisor at a restaurant for 5 years)

I have taken 5 APs and am enrolled in 4 this year.
AP Scores:
AP English 11: 5
AP Euro History: 4
AP Environmental Science: 4
AP Psychology

My first quarter grades are:
AP English 12: A
AP Gov: A
AP Comparative Gov: A
AP Statistics: B
Small Eng: A
Oceanography: A

I don't really understand, other than my GPA, why I got deferred. Also if I keep these grades up, can I send off an updated transcript?
