Hey guys! Ok so, I just finished my junior year and you know what that means, let the nervous breakdowns of college anxiety begin. So, towards the end of my junior year and into the summer I've been thinking about applying to Virginia Tech early. I've read so many posts of the similar question as me but of course, their resume is not the same as mine. Here's what it is: I've always been a nerd and gotten good grades my entire school career....and then junior year came along. It started out great! Ever since eighth grade, I've been taken most difficult courses offered, including every opportunity I got. My GPAs for freshman and sophomore year were well though I can't remember what they were. During my junior year I took all IB/dual enrollment classes. I also took two sciences at once. Unfortunately, right at midterms I had to leave the country due to family matters. I was gone for an entire grading period (6 to 7 weeks). When I returned I had to makeup all that work plus learn and do all the current material my classes were doing in a short 5 weeks. It was HORRIBLE! and as you imagined, my grades suffered. Also, my math class was a very painful experience for me. I've always exceled in math and because of that confidence I decided to take geometry and trig at once my sophomore year so I was eligable to take pre-calculus (math analysis) my junior year. Well, that was a mistake. My math average wasn't my usual. I got my first D on my report card. I had a C/D average in math. My other courses I did well. Though I dont know my exact junior year GPA I've estimated it to be about 2.8 or 9ish UNWEIGHTED. Im EXTRMELY scared that my chances of getting into VT is slim to none. As of SATS, I got 1500 on my first shot, I plan to take them again. I've researched and read that the biggest con of early decison is its more competetive and less financial aid. I would have thought the exact opposite. But please clarify which is true. Please be completely honest even if its brutal. I really need some guidance and support. Thank you SOOOO much!
