I am curious of my chances of being admitted into VT engineering next year. I plan to apply early decision and submit two act scores since VT does superstore the act. With my combined act scores I received a composite of 31: 34(math) 33(science) 27(reading) 29 (English). I have taken ap calculus AB and BC and got an A in both classes. I also got 5’s on both ap exams(not sure if that helps with admission). I have taken both regular physics and chemistry, but am taking ap physics and chemistry this upcoming year. Last year I also participated in VASTS and got selected for the summer program. I was unfortunately unable to attend because of a death in my family, but from the online course I got a credit for “intro into engineering” and received an A in the course. My weighted gpa currently is a 3.96.
My brother is looking at VA tech for computer science or computer engineering so I know a little about them…given your GPA and ACT I think you have a very very high chance of getting in.
Is your weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale? If so you have a super high chance
According to prepscholar.com
Avg act there is a 27
Avg GPA is a 3.65
Yes, it is on a 4.0 scale. Thanks for the reply and best of luck to your brother!
Thank you! And you have a super high chance, probably can get scholarship money too! Good luck in your future!
I was admitted early decision into general engineering if anyone is curious.
