Hey, I’m a transfer from a VCCS and I applied to the engineering school and I am going down Feb 6th for Instant Decision Day. My GPA as of now is a 3.18 with B’s and better in all classes except for a 6-week summer Pre-Calc class (had surgery complications). I am not sure if that will matter much since I have completed all Calculus courses along with Linear Algebra. I am currently enrolled in Statics, PHY II, Differential Equations, and Eng 242. By the time this semester is over I will have completed over 60 credits along with my Associates in math. Does anyone think I have a good chance?
@Curt Yes, you do have a shot. Be ready to prove yourself with mid-term progress report. Push hard, my friend. You are having a tough semester, though. I heard VT has the best cafeteria nationwide and it’s cheap, too. Enjoy the visit! Best of luck! ps. It’s not fair that you gonna get an instant decision while ALL of us were hanging dried for 30+ days before we know our fate!
can i ask you guys something?
For the requirement section, I got a new box with UG final transcript.
does this mean I am in??
I did not had those boxes but it just appeared
@hokiewannabe I’ve had that box for months now. I highly doubt it means anything, since it was there prior to them receiving my college transcript.
@Veteran4VT I think it may because your maths you have taken do not transfer, so they want to see your grade before officially accepting you. I wish you the best of luck!
Guys I have this really good feeling about tomorrow
I think it’s definitely possible that we get our decisions tomorrow! I mean instant decision people are gonna find out on Friday, and it doesn’t really make sense to me that they’d know before priority review…
@VTDreamer14 I really hope so! And yeah, priority review applicants are supposed to hear back first, so it would only make sense.
Hey i posted this before, but I’m kinda nervous about my chances
I’m a freshman at GMU

@mick5000x What’s your major?
@ashleydawn my major is biology, trying to transfer into the College of Science at Virginia tech, forgot to mention.
Your stats look wonderful, as you’re meeting all of the general education requirements. Good luck! @mick5000x
@mick5000x Why hurry? why VT for Bio? stay put and finish Org Chemistry + Bio + Sociology + Psycho for easier grades. VCCS would save you at least $10k/year staying put. Then transfer next year to even UVA, VCU, or VT … I knew someone who transferred early into VT and oh boy, they suffered big time with Organic Chemistry struggled to get a B- C … Good luck
So a good source says that we won’t find out until 8am
@hokiehivpi tomorrow is a sure thing but DO NOT hold your breath on 8am … past indicators suggested 5pm
@HokieHiVPI do you know if 4 year universities will find out too?
@Hokie nope, VCCS only
to all: where else have you applied beside VT?
Just VT!
No sleep tonight
