Hi, I was wondering what the finance major is like at Virginia Tech, how hard classes are, and what the typical day looks like for a finance major. I was also wondering how easy/difficult it is to get internships as a student and a job after graduating. Also if anyone has any advice, that would be great too. Thanks!
My son started as finance major this year taking a lot of the preliminary classes. Average difficulty classes just need to go to class and study. Finance in general is not considered an overly hard major. He is actually thinking of going into something more challenging like BIT or over into Science. Overall though he has liked the teachers in Pamplin.
Typical day - 3 classes (1 hour to 1 1/2 ea) and some study time (a few hours of study time - - not nearly the amount you will see with engineering students).
As far as internships - VT really pushes internships and there are tons of opportunities. Also Pamplin pushes studies abroad as well.
Thank you!
