virginia tech or gw?

my mom lives in roanoke so i would live with her since it's closer to virginia tech
and my dad lives in maryland so i'd live with him if i choose gw.

i'm entering in as a geography major.
i'm currently in a rural town but i'm flexible; i don't care whether i'm in a city or not. i've visited both.

vt gave me a bad financial aid package and i'm waiting on gw. gw supposedly gives good financial aid (can someone clarify this please?)

where should i go?

ps i do not buy the internship thing about DC.
i have just as much opportunity to get an internship in DC if i choose to go to VT. i've interned in DC twice and i've met students from all over and have only met 2 DC interns. i've interned at the air and space museum and congress.

If GW gives you good FA then I think you should go there.

belief - I don’t think anyone is saying that you can only get internships in DC if you live there; obviously, anyone can apply. However, if you don’t already have a place to live in or around DC, it would be difficult to spend a summer there. It’s easier and cheaper for DC/MD/NOVA residents to make the commute, which is why people say that going to a school nearby will help. Obviously if your dad lives in Maryland this is not an issue.
