I got accepted march 6!

@IAS117 I hear the next wave of decisions will be late April :/

I have a hokie bird next to the words, “you may have financial aid.”
Is this the hokie bird that everyone is talking about? Is this a good sign?

@bilaldgenius speculating

@NeedToBeAHokie No. The hokie bird that everyone talks about is the one that shows up when you go and check you status. It will say something like "your credit evaluation may be complete, please click here to check.

@hokie757 okay thank you! Should I be worried that I don’t have that hokie bird? I haven’t gotten a response and I’m starting to get very worried.

@NeedToBeAHokie me too, but I’m trying to stay positive, because a lot of people said they didn’t hear back till the end of April last year, so there is still hope!!

@Megs19 I really appreciate hearing that! My stats are pretty good and I’ve been in contact with an adviser there. I think I have a pretty good chance but the whole hokie bird thing and the wait are killing me!

@NeedToBeAHokie I am not really sure, try looking around the forums to see if people have gotten accepted without the hokie bird. I applied in December and found out my acceptance on February 7th and got the hokie bird in January. What are your stats? Are you a community college student?

Guys stop worrying about the bird. I have heard of people getting accepted and the bird not showing up for a long time after them getting accepted. Plus, I called and they said next wave of acceptance should be late April.

Transfer students are the last bunch to get accepted. So it’s normal, it’s how the process is and you not getting accepted yet doesn’t mean it is a bad sign.

I’ve been accepted and didn’t get a bird ?

I just called and was told that transfer decisions would be released the last week in April. ::sigh:: Has anyone else gotten a different answer recently?

I called and got the same response as well. Thank you to everyone who responded and helped!
@hokie757 I have a 3.5. This is my second semester at NVCC.

I emailed an admissions director and was also told that the last wave of admissions was going to be late April. @hellomia did you really get accepted without the bird? or did it disappear? that gives me hope lol

Anybody know what the “Transfers in the KNOW” program is?

There was no bird! I got accepted around march 10, most likely not going to go @hokiehopeful9

@hellomia Wow that’s very interesting, and it definitely gives me hope! lol. Why do you say that you’re most likely not going to go?

Arent transfer applications on a rolling admission bases??

@bilaldgenius I think so, but a number of us contacted the admissions office and we were told that the next(and final) wave is going to be late april. They’ll probably be notifying all the rest of the transfers until May 1st which is the date they have posted on their website as the transfer notification date.

@hokiehopeful9 Is that something the counselors are just saying or is that actually whats going on. What I mean is, is it definite that no one else is going to find out before late April. Because if that is true that means I shouldn’t bother looking on the guest page like 5-6 times a day…
