Virginia Tech transfer questions

I'm currently a junior at the University of Texas at Austin that has been looking into transferring schools to pursue civil engineering. I was recently admitted to Virginia Tech as a transfer student going into Fall '14; however, I have a number of issues regarding the transition, and if I'd even be able to complete the transfer:

-Finishing this semester has been a bit grueling; I'm currently in Eng. Physics II, Differential Equations, and Intro to Civil Engineering. Managing a C right now in Physics, making an A in both Diff. Eq. and Civil. I was in a matrices course, but after learning I'd have to retake it because I initially took it pass-fail (I'm currently a math major), I dropped it since it wasn't helping me to stay in it. I dropped it because I was following the plan that had me staying at UT; I hadn't received my offer of admission. My question is, will my offer of admission be withdrawn under the above circumstances? The letter states that it MAY be withdrawn if I make a C or lower, while the final requirements sheet says it WILL be withdrawn if I make below a C, or if I fail to complete any coursework in progress. Is this set in stone? Does anyone have any experience with this? VATech is a great school and I would hate to lose their offer of admission because of this.

-I'm considering deferring my enrollment for a semester to figure out my financial situation and set my affairs in order, as well as to potentially find a civil engineering internship here in Austin before enrolling at Virginia Tech in the spring semester of 2015. Thus my next question is, would this be a viable option that I could pursue? Or would I need to accept and enroll in the fall?
