<p>Purplequeue, There were 2800 on the 2009 waitlist and they made offers to 859 according to the website. I think 308 students actually enrolled from the waitlist. That hardly amounts to “almost everyone” getting off the waitlist last year. You are correct that is hard to know what will happen this year as there have been years they did not take anyone off the waitlist(or very few). Ballaholic, between VT and JMU there may still be hope. With JMU, getting in touch with your local admissions rep could help , especially if you have improved your grades recently or have new honors. I know this is stressful. Son only applied to 3 instate schools last year and only got into GMU initially with waitlists at JMU and VT. It was stressful. In April, he was going to GMU. In May, he was going to JMU. In June, he was going to Virginia Tech. It all worked out and hopefully you will get good news from at least one of the 2 schools! Good luck!</p>
