For the most part a lot of what you get into with Galileo is career-related guidance (resumes, cover letters, career fair prep, etc.)
I'd say it's a great opportunity ONLY if you're dead set on becoming an engineering major at Tech. It places you in a residence with many other engineering majors which is very helpful.

I'd recommend it if have no doubts that you want to be an engineering major.

Also, I know plenty of kids who lived in Galileo, most of whom are very cool, so I think you'll have a blast if you feel like the opportunity suits you.

I kinda sorta made my S do this his freshman year. They live in the same dorm (his year it was Lee, I don't know if that has changed), on the same halls/s. He actually enjoyed it, except for the seminar which was, in his words, lame. Having said that though, he needed the career-related guidance that morethanever mentioned! And in the end, he said he was glad he participated in Galileo - he made several really good friends in the group, all from different engineering majors.

HyunwooP, what do you mean by weird? can you elaborate?
