As I have to start thinking about financing my education, most probably I'll take a small loan from a bank in my country.

Now the problem is following - should I take the loan after having an interview for a student visa or should I take a chance and take the loan before the interview, assuming I'll get the visa, in order to prove that I'll be able to finance my education? Or is it possible to show them some kind of a pre-contract that I'm about to take some loans?

When proving parents' contribution, should I bring them a statement about their salaries (coz we can pay in monthly instalments) or some kind of confirmation of an account with the cash that will cover expenses for at least a year at college?

If you are an international student, you will be required to verify that you have enough money to cover ALL of your expenses for the year…this can include already approved loans, already awarded financial aid, and/or cash your family already has saved. You must prove you have this money to OBTAIN a visa to study here.

So it means I have to take a loan before going to the interview or should I make some kind of contract that proves that I’ll take a loan if I get the visa. I mean, I’d be screwed if I don’t get the visa approved and have loans to repay or the bank will understand my situation so they will cancel the process immediately?

I would suggest you post your question where there is a sticky above on the main screen for financial aid/scholarships for international student aid. Perhaps someone there can be more specific about the process.

Can you get a pre-approval for a loan showing you will be given the loan? Would that work? Otherwise I would think you would want to make sure if the loan is taken to not spend any of the money and make sure there are no pre-payment penalties if you repaid it immediately. Then you would likely only be responsible for some interest depending on when the loan was released and when it was paid back but I would make sure to get that in writing and find out particulars before signing anything.

To get your visa, you have to show that the money exists in an account somewhere. It doesn’t work to just show that your parents’ income is high enough to make monthly installments.
