VISA-Class of 2017

Do we need to show our parent’s tax clearance as well or is a statement from the employer enough? And is I’m planning to apply for Visa towards the end of june. Will it be too late?

@STARRYNIGHT94
the statement from the employer is enough. However, if you have tax clearence as well you can show it too. If you don’t have it there is no need to worry.
End of july won’t be too late. However, if you have all the documents ready I would suggest you to apply now. You will know your visa decision early which is a great relief.

Now that US embassy does not require police report, medical report and immunization form, does anyone know whether these documents are required for the immigration office ?

not as far as I can remember. You might be required to have the police report to get no objection letter (don’t quote me on that), which you need in case you need money sent from nepal later in case of an emergency or what not.

If I add some money, say about 7/8 thousand dollars during the lst month and it shows in the bank statement, will the visa officer question about it and interrogate? Or will they overlook through it?

The officer will probably overlook the transaction statement if you have to pay relatively less amount(say less than 2000 per year), most of us (me and some of my friends, grad students) didn’t bother with a lot of documents. We had just a single bank statement(with some amount deposited a couple of weeks ago) and that was it.

if you’re going to a decent school, and have to pay ~2k, you should be fine. My interview lasted 2 mins, where the interviewer asked about my interests. Looked at my file for 10 seconds-ish. Just flipped thru. chillax.

@starrynight94 you do not have to show the transactions; a balance certificate stating you have “this” amount is enough.

How recent do the financial documents have to be? Will it be okay if they are four months old?

My sponsor is away for a while and I cannot get a bank statement without him. The most recent statement I have is from February 10. I would hate to wait for him to come back until I apply.

Guys thanks for the info. And @batuli are you sure that balance certificate is enough? If that is the case then it would really be convenient.

@starrynight94
I did not supply them the bank transaction to them and they never interrogated about it. That could also be because of the amount I had to pay towards my college.

@nepalimussa I think they ask for documents which are 3 or less months older. You can visit the inquiry section at embassy for this. They might help you better.

Okay… here is my side of the story…

Interviewed on 7th june for VISA, granted VISA within a minute…

Now, I would like to ask, and anyone is welcome to help, do I need an NOC (No-Objection-Certificate) at any point of my study? Is it needed while boarding the flight and arriving in United States and Studying there?

you should get it. If you have an emergency and you really really need $$$ sent from home, your bank will ask for it. I highly recommend you get it. Trust me.

guys, do we need a Relationship verification certificate (Nata Pramanit paper) or is a Birth Certificate enough? My parents are my sponsor.

You need relationship verification certificate.

Why do we need relation verification??

I think it is needed basically for two reasons:

1.(Obvious one) To verify the applicant’s relation with his/her parents or the sponsors.
2. To know other dependents of the applicant’s parents or the Sponsors other than the applicant.

I am not sure if they need it compulsorily, but it is ALWAYS better to have that verification just to remain safe.

Also needed to show cultural/family ties in Nepal so further support the claim that you will return to Nepal.

@sixthstringrocker
What do we need to take with us to get the no objection letter? How long does it take to get one?

sixstringrocker… so, should i give that ‘NOC’ to my parents so that they can send me money during emergency?? Or I should keep that ? Who will need that?
