This is basically for indian applicants...
have all of you got your visa interviews through? or is anyone in the same boat as me...
i just applied for the visa online, and the embassy is full for interviews on all days till september 13th, which is ofcourse, too late...

I tried calling the visa department of the embassy but they play a sadly recorded message regarding applying online, so no help there...

So, is there any known way around this...?? As in how do i get an appointment before september, because i'm figuring there have to be a significant number of kids experiencing the same ishh...

okay i'm just beyong helpless right now... so HELP me.... !!

u can go for the offline interview, which is like u take an appointment by personally going to ur nearest embassy. u give them ur file which is complete with all the forms, i-20, and photo copies of ur passport and possibly you will get an appointment within a week.
Its called the emegency appointment. so call ur visa centre and find out more about this. u'll have to try a lot but they will finally process ur call. btw which college are u attending?

anokhi I was in the same boat so I called the consulate here in Cal. They told me to call TT services so I did that and the TT services guys told me to call them back the minute I had got my I-20 and that getting an emergency appointment for a student visa would be no problem. So call TT services

Anokhi, I faced the same problem. Originally i got an appointment on sep 6. Go to this page http://www.ttsvisas.com/Homepage.aspx
You will see a Modify/cancel appointment link. Log in. Appointment slots keep changing throughout the day. I was able to get an appointment on july 18. If all else fails call the TT services.
Hope this helps

Hey, thanks a ton for the advice...
i did freak out, so called TT services since my dad went through a spazz attack and got efficient for a change...
yeah, so booked an emergency appointment for June 23... which seems too soon, but guess it's far better than september the 13th...

I have the I20 from Boston U, but George Washington still have to send it....
soooo now i'm stressing about GW sending it across in time...
arrgh, why does the US have to have such complicated procedures...?!?!?!?

Oh, does anyone know if i can apply with a BU I20, and then later just shift to GW...?? seems far fetched, but someone mentioned you can do that....

no u cannot, because ur visa will have the name of ur uni. and if u apply and get visa on bu and want to transfer to gw, u have to do it all over again
