Vision

If a potential cadet has poor vision (wears glasses), how much of an impact would this make on admissions?

My understanding is that wearing glasses does not affect your appointment chances as long as your vision is correctable to 20/20 with glasses and your uncorrected vision is within certain limits, I believe something like -7.0.

Unlike US Naval Academy, my understanding is that West Point does not have a limitation on number of cadets within a class that have vision waivers. However, certain branch assignments after graduation, like heli pilot, will likely have more strigent vision requirement.

I agree with Aspen. My cousin attended west point with less than perfect vision(wore contacts). He was only limited in terms of piloting. Other then that he was not disqualified from anything
