Visit April 2014

Hoping to make reservations this weekend for visit April 23 to the 26th. I’m aware that the Full Monty will open that Thursday and opportunities to meet with faculty etc. will be doubtful, but that is OK. I would love suggestions about where to stay. I know I read a thread with lodging information, but I can’t locate it now. I’m leaning toward Hampton Inn. Fairfield Inn is not available. Thank you!

Any of the motels at Polaris would suit you as they’re only an easy 10 minute drive from campus and you would have plenty of dining options, shopping as well. We usually stay at Best Western Franklin Suites, but haven’t been as pleased recently. We actually booked the Hampton Inn, but never stayed, as we had to cancel due to the storm. Last year we stayed at Holiday Inn Express and it was fine, but I believe more expensive. I’d go with Hampton. Make sure you look up our kids from the parents who post here as each has a different, but great, perspective. I’m sure they would be happy to visit with you while you’re there depending on availability from the production. And, if you’re child is sitting in on classes, they’ll most likely see each other at some point. Frankly, by that time, I believe most faculty could be more available to you. Have fun! Westerville is a wonderful town!

We stayed at Fairfield Inn so I got nothing but the whole area is nice I’m sure you can’t go wrong anywhere. We may head up as well to see the show as well. I’ll let you know for sure we can meet!

@entertainersmom I usually bid on Priceline and always have gotten a great deal on a room at Double Tree Columbus/Worthington ($65/night for Full Monty weekend). I was unable to bid until late one time and we stayed at ExtendedStay America at Polaris on a recommendation from another family and it was great. The traffic around the Polaris Mall can be a little crazy at rush hour, but is relatively close to the school.

Thanks for the tips. I may do more shopping around for good rates. The plane tickets went up +50.00 from when I checked them yesterday morning, to purchasing them last night. Really burned me up!

I usually stay at the Fairfield too, and it was booked when I went for “Earnest”–ended up at a Holiday Inn in Worthington, which was fine but not great. We need to start some sort of group effort on these hotel rooms when there are shows…Sorry about your plane ticket costs, entertainersmom–that’s SO annoying. >:(

I booked at the Hampton today, its right near the Fairfield. We’ll be there the 25th to see The Full Monty.

We are at the Hampton April 23 -26th! I believe our tickets are for the 24th.

Great! We’ll have to meet in the lobby or something!

Absolutely!
