Visit but no tour?

This spring break my parents are shipping me up to my relatives in the north to go look at some schools. I have to be back a few days early, which cuts the number of days I can actually go to the school. I am planning on visiting two small LAC's on days that they don't offer tours at the school. Should I go anyway to just look around? I know a lot of information about the schools and am mostly going to get a 'feel' for the campus and students. As much as I would like to visit on another day I can't because of time constraints. Any opinions?

Yes. Call ahead and see if you can meet with someone in admissions and/or arrange to sit in on a class or two. My daughter and I unofficially self toured a couple schools and felt it was very worthwhile.
