Does NYU have any program for prospective students where you can stay in the dorms with current students for a weekend or something and sit in on classes, etc...? Airlfare's pretty cheap right now and I'm plotting to get to NY for a couple days

The admissions office has information sessions and tours available which you can sign up for. If you're interested in sitting in on classes, they'll give you a list of available classes for that when you visit. You can't choose any class, it has to be one of the 'approved' ones. They'll show you a 'sample' dorm room. NYU doesn't offer interviews or overnights. If you want to see a particular dorm or stay overnight or visit a particular class, you have to try to arrange that yourself with a current student, if you know one. You need to sign up for these tours and info sessions in advance.

A good idea would be to contact the Deapartment of Resident Life. They may be able to put you into contact with a CDE who can find an RA willing to accomodate you as most would be.
