Visit Report

Just returned from an overnight visit/scheduled "visit day" at Hillsdale and loved it. Every student I met was thoughtful, mature, and gracious. One freshman, seeing that I was stumbling about in search of the dining hall, offered to walk me over. She ended up sitting with me for the whole meal to answer questions about the college (though she was not a designated host).

We also got the chance to chat with a couple professors, both of whom spoke at length about the quality of the students at H'dale compared with other institutions where they had taught.

The admissions interview was very thorough but relaxed. The counselor and I talked for nearly an hour about my academic background, the honor code, and the liberal arts mission. She was professional but warm and encouraging.

Now to work on apps... is it possible to write an essay with fingers crossed? ;)

Great post, warriordaughter.

That’s always been and always will be my pitch to prospective students: just visit. If a visit doesn’t sell you, don’t apply.

Best of luck with your application!
