I visited NYU today. My friend who currently attends there showed me around.
If you have any question about anything about the campus I'll see if I can answer it.
Here some info of my day.

I visited 3rd north. Saw the inside of the dorm and the center of 3rd north(courtyard).
Ate at weinstein (downstair)
Went inside
-the library
-kimell(sp) center
-book store(bought a sweater =])
-computer store
Saw
-All the NYU building.
-Including the new freshman dorm (12th street)-Looks really weird with the church in front.

So yea, If you have any question about the campus or my visit feel free to ask =].

bondgirl - I did not see rubin. I might have passed it without knowing though lol. But I didn't go inside.

Bryan - I really liked 3rd north. I think I will decide to dorm there. The courtyard in the middle was very cool. Looks like a nice place to socialize. Even at night in the cold (8ish) there were people outside in the courtyard talking. The dorm itself was very nice also. I liked the apartment style of it. My friend lives in a dorm with 5 pple.(2-2 and one person gets her own room, and 2 bathroom). The bathroom weren't huge but it's better then sharing with everyone in the floor like some colleges do. The rooms were also decent size. 2 people could live comfortably in the room without distracting eachother. Overall I got a good impression of 3rd North.

Peterlee - 12th street sure is something... lol. The building itself looks nice but then there is this huge church awkwardly in the front of the huge building behind it. It was weird lol. I don't see why they just don't take it down. But it's new so I'm guessing the inside will look nice.

NYU kept the church front in front of the 12 street dorm to appease the people of the area because they were getting mad at NYU for tearing down something historic to the neighborhood. I completely understand why they kept it, but I think they could've done a better job incorporating it into the the structure of building.

What I really want to know that it's like inside because that's really what matters when it comes to whether I would choose it was my dorm. But I've got a whole year to find that out, that is, if I get accepted. =]

if i'm not mistaken, didn't they decide to re-construct that church recently? (no offense to anyone but i read a report that apparently said that) not sure if it's the same church though. btw, i'm planning a trip to NYU on the 17th of february!

I dont think NYU did it to appease the locals. They are already ****ed as hell. The church was on the nat'l historic register of places, so they couldnt destroy the facade.
