I have visited colleges in the summer when students are gone before but never during the school year. I am going to though next month and am just curious how one should go about doing it. Is this a normal thing to do or will i be a rarity? I feel like this is a stupid question but i just want to make sure.

You certainly won’t be a rarity, since students are advised to visit when classes are in session in order to get an accurate idea of what the campus feels like. Since you’re going next month, you’ll want to avoid Fall Break at W & M - 10/9 through 10/12. Will you be taking a tour? If you’re with a group of applicants you won’t feel conspicuous. And it’s also possible, and some would say better, to tour on your own.

ok thanks.

We have several options in addition to the information session and tour for visitors. You can:

1) [Visit a Class](Shadow a Student & Class Visits | William & Mary)
2) [Shadow a Current Student](Shadow a Student | William & Mary)
3) Attend a [Fall Focus Program](Fall Focus Days | William & Mary) on a Saturday morning

These are some great ways to get to know our faculty, students, and campus.

thanks. I didn’t know about any of those options.

They’re all listed on the visiting campus portion of our web site. That’s always a good source of information for campus visit opportunities.
