Visiting as a prospective

Going to be at UCLA for the first time, anything I shouldn't miss?

Are you visiting during the summer? If so, I recommend going back while school is in session so you can drop in on a few lecture classes and, more importantly, talk to some students to get a feel of the atmosphere. Since I’m assuming your a CA resident, if you have any friends from your HS attending UCLA next year it would be worth taking a day off school to visit and crash in their dorm room for a nite. You’ll see all the nice architecture this summer, but its the students that make the school what it is.

Everyone goes gaga for royce hall, but my personal favorite building on campus is probably Kerkhoff. Be sure to check out their coffee house on the second floor!

Yeah I’ll be going over summer so mostly just sight seeing I guess but if I get in(hopefully:P) I’ll go during the school year and check things out

Go to the dorms so you can see where you’ll be living. Just knock on a couple of doors and someone is bound to let you in. The dorm style varies greatly by building, so ask whoever lets you see their room how it compares to other buildings. If you’re an incoming freshman you’ll probably get a hall (Dykstra, Hedrick, Sproul, or Reiber), so go to one of those.

If u wanna see some cool sights it kinda depends how much you are willing to walk.

1) A view from on top of Jan steps is pretty nice (especially around sunset).
2) Inverted fountain
3) Sculpture gardens is pretty peaceful and has some interesting things to see.

Pauley Pavilion (when the renovation is done).
