Visiting Brown during their Spring Break

Cannednish, do you go to Northgate? Or Las Lomas?

I used to go to YVHS, then I moved to the Sacramento area.

If you're going to walk up to Brown from the bus (only about 6-8 long blocks) be aware they don't call it "College Hill" for nothing-- your walk will take you up a fairly steep hill (RISD is 1/2 way up and Brown is on top.) Many of the sidewalks are brick or cobble-like, thus a little uneven. Can be tricky in inclement weather.

Choose your shoes wisely-- and don't bring much to lug around.

Realize the flavor of all the people won't be there but you can get a good view of the campus, the facilities, & the city. Also, some people do hang out during vacations... Hit the libraries, the eateries near campus, etc-- you may scare up a few students. Talk to them!

BTW I grew up near where you live.

wow! Go California Bay Area-ns!! Hehe, right Calidan? knudge knudge and of course you too SBmom :)

Wooooohooooo Bay Area represent!!!!! :p

EAST BAY!!!

I knew some Youth and Government people from East Bay

"Borinda" was what we called it. ;)

I go to Monte Vista HS, in Danville/Alamo...woo!

cannednish, when I was growing up your whole area was horse pastures. :)

1970's: Big night out: Sun Valley Mall. Bigger night out: Cruising the Main in WC. Biggest night out: Someone's older brother or sister knowing about a party in Berkeley!!

i LOVE Sunvalley Mall. I was just there on Saturday. Main is okay. All those pretty lights and little restaurants. :) Did you graduate from Miramonte or something like that SBmom?

yep miramonte

oooh. nice.

SBMom: Despite the rapid removal of hills and the building of new housing developments, Danville still has quite a bit of pasture. Just the other weekend my friends and I crossed one of them barbed wire fences (good thing we knew how to get over without getting cut!) and hiked a few of those big green hills :D Of course, we avoided the cows because they seemed quite agitated whenever we got near them (the incessant angry moo-ing was quite unnerving).

go youth and government!! just had to say that when i saw it

really, you know about it... I'm a major youth and government person and I ran for office.... heres a hint..... vinyl wig and speech about the patriot act

hehe, you make it hard not to remember, well i'm not anyone real special never ran for anything, but still enjoyed every minute that i was in the program

that program was outstanding. every minute I was in it, I was enthralled. I had so much fun. One time when my SIP committee was in the capitol buidling I decided to go look up my representative. Since I had helped her in her reelection campaign it was surprise. We did have a nice chat though and she offered to write me a rec :)

and you ARE special...

btw, do u mind me asking what delegation/what part of the program u were in?

i'm from pennisula/san diego, delegation, and was a member of blue assembly, we had a candidate for governor, she was in SIP"s too

are u the delegation with the midnight bus sweatshirts

umm, yeah unforunatly, that is the "super cluster" sweatshirt, and then my delegation got our own zip up sweatshirts that were forest green, and were really boring, but better than the midnight bus ones

Tours still occur when its raining, correct? Sadly, it will be raining throughout my trip :(
