Hey, hey! I will be visiting Brown on October 4, 2007! So I was just wondering if any students have advice as to what is MOST crucial for me to experience when visiting!

Also, do you know if the Bruin Club (I can’t remember the exact name of the club, forgive me…) will be hosting students by then? I have overnight visits scheduled for Harvard and Yale, but Brown’s only option has not been updated for this school year… any help?

It is the Bruin Club, and you should email them-- they’ll let you know if we’re starting them up by then. I think we will have them set up, they did discuss it in the meeting last week but I’m not a host (not a freshman and I’m not on-campus) so I’m not up to date on that.

I visited Brown this summer (and loved it), but should I be trying to visit again to interview? Are alumni interviews as important as ones at the school?

Interviews are recommended but not required. Once your application has been received, an alumnus/a in your area is contacted. Where possible, this applies to international applicants as well. He or she will then contact you and, if you so desire, arrange a time and place to conduct an interview. Although we try to reach all of our applicants, we are not always able to do so due to the nature and demographics of this all-volunteer organization. Please keep in mind that it will not negatively affect your application if you do not meet with one of our alumni volunteers. As of the 2003-2004 academic year, we no longer offer on-campus interviews.

Hmmmm. Do the interviewer alumni have to be specially trained, or is it just anyone that can find in your area? I live in the Czech Republic and I only know one brown alumnus.
