I’m a rising senior and will be up in the Boston area next week. I’m planning on applying to BU and I’m touring the campus while there.

Besides the campus tour, what else should I check out while up there? I’ve never been to Boston and I want to get a feel of what it would be like to go to school up there.

Are there any specific places I should visit?

Definitely the downtown area and maybe Chinatown, considering that there are a large group of Asians in the Boston area. Quincy center is full of historical John Adams/John Quincy Adams places. If youre a shopping addict(like me) wrethem outlets are a worthwhile visit.
I lived in Boston and it is a great place to study at!

Faneuil Hall, the Harbor (depending on the weather and stuff you could do a small cruise and there’s also whale watching), North End (little Italy with amazing food), and Newbury St if you like shopping. You can take a duck tour too. Those are really fun and take you around the city. You just need to buy tickets which you can even do online.

I second the Duck Tour - it is delightfully kitschy, and was a fun way to see a good portion of the sights. Be sure you take the T - students use it constantly. If you like to shop, Hanover Street is very fun and upscale, and you can stop at JP Licks for ice cream. North End is CRAMMED with great restaurants and bakeries!
