Visiting Campus

Hello all! I am going to be a high school senior this fall, and I am visiting Washington University on Saturday. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of things to do or see. I want to make the most out of this visit because it will probably be the only one I can make (unless I am accepted...). Thanks!

Set up an interview. Make sure the admissions dept. knows you were there. Go on the tour. Consider attending a specialty weekend - for instance, my daughter went to the Art & Architecture weekend, and it gave us a TON of information. She fell in love that weekend, with Wash U. It was our first visit, and no other subsequent school came anywhere close.

I'm going on Saturday, and I don't think they have interviews on the weekends. I'll check it out though. Thanks!

if you want to see pretty things, go to:
1. the South Asian Collections Library
2. Holmes Lounge
3. Brookings Quad

don't be afraid to peek in some of the buildings and wander around. i did when i was there, and i really saw a lot more of what made me feel that I belonged at washU.

definitely do a tour, and information sessions (if they're having them) about the departments you're interested in.
i didn't do a tour when i went to visit, because i was sitting in on classes, but i definitely would have if i had had the time.

Great! I'm planning on attending an information session and going on a tour. Just out of curiousity, would you mind describing what those buildings are? Thanks!
