<p>When would be the best time to visit CMU in April to get a good feel for the campus atmosphere?</p>
<p>Pretty much any time is good, but April 19th-22nd is carnival so there aren't any organized events for admitted students and campus is much more exciting and crazy than usual. There's also no classes the 19th and 20th. You should look at information about sleeping bag weekends if you're interested in a chance to ask questions to a panel or whatnot.</p>
<p>There's usually a program in early April for accepted students that would include an overnight. In addition to getting that feel for the place, you can also see who your prospective classmates might be.</p>
