I'm going to visit Dartmouth on Saturday with a couple of my friends. Is there anything I must see if I go? I'll be taking the tour and going to the info session, but I'm guessing there are some cool parts of Dartmouth that aren't on the tour.

lous for breakfast!! though will be super busy with homecoming
all the libraries old and new
the mural in the basement
the trees by the golf course and pond
frat row

do not be turned off by the construction..most will be done by next fall
when your hopefully there..

Friday's bonfire night, so most of us will probably be sleeping/hung over come Saturday morning =P

Let's see...what was mentioned above, plus East Wheelock and/or athletic complex (though they're on opposite sides of the social spectrum, haha), the Hop, walk across Ledyard bridge into VT & to the canoe club. Oh, and get a feel for Collis and Thayer--they're where you'll likely eat the vast majority of your meals if you come here. Also, if you're into hiking like I am, there's Balch Hill, Gile Mtn (a looong walk or a short drive but totally worth it), the AT which runs through town, and much more. PM me if you want more info about anything.

I'd like to report that I had a very good visit...the tour was really good though it was cold :p and the campus is beautiful. I could really sense the sense of school pride at Dartmouth (especially because it was homecoming), and my tour guide helped allievate any misconceptions I had about the Greek life on campus. Lol I had a really funny info session...the woman who explained the "Dartmouth System" was hilarious...she spoke 1000 miles a minute and was enthusiastic to the point of neurotic-ness. I'm glad I visited, but I'm mad that I didn't have enough time to really explore the campus...I went through the big places like the library and the Hop, but we had to leave and lunch (which was really good BTW) took up most of our only hour of exploring.

Oh and one final note: me and my friend were convinced that the Tuck School of Business was not real. I swear, it looked like a movie set...I was traumatized when I opened the door and it was an actual building with depth. Don't get me wrong...it wasn't bad-looking at all--it just looked fake somehow.

I'm glad I visited and would definitely recommend anyone who is within a couple hours to do so.
