I am visiting the school on Saturday. Just wanted to know if there is anything in perticular that I should see, outside the tour and all? I am so excited, this is my first offical college visit!!!

Ask your tour guide to take you to the sunken garden. Also ask whether the daffodils are at peak on the hill by the science building (they should be).

BMC is going to be heart-stoppingly beautiful at this time of year. I mean, just unbelievable.

Engage various students in conversation about what they like and dislike about Bryn Mawr, also try to go to a public place-- snack bar or similar--where you can eavesdrop a little on some typical conversation.

Be sure you ask a few current students to describe the long-held traditions at BMC that take place at various times of the year. They are among the most distinctive and endearing qualities that captured my daughter's fancy during her visit to the campus. Do take a look inside Thomas Great Hall, the college's original library. And be sure to ask some students about any interaction they have academically and socially with Haverford (my alma mater).

I saw the school yesterday and it was amazing! I took many of your suggestions and all I can say is that I loved the school. It wasn't too big or too small. The dorms were great. My tour guide rocked and basically answered every question I had even before I asked it. I loved the respect the school seems to have for its students. Overall it just seemed like a place I could see myself at. I am def. going to do an over night in the fall.

Glad you had a favorable visit. It is a terrific place in many respects. I would be interested in hearing what current BMC students told you about their academic and social connections to Haverford as this relationship has changed a bit (not necessarily for the better) over the years, I think.

Did you have an admissions interview while you were on campus?
