Visiting Harvard

I'm a rising senior in HS and I'm visiting colleges on east coast in a few days. I'll be spending a couple days in Cambridge, so, in addition to the info session and tour, what else should I see at Harvard to get a good feel for the campus and surrounding area? (I've heard that, unless you're a student, you can't get into the libraries)

You can go into the libraries during the day as a visitor.

For the campus I'd say taking an Admissions tour is a good place to start - provides a good overview. In addition try to get a peek into Annenberg Hall and Sanders Theater. Going inside those two are not usually part of the tour, but they are amazing. See photos that were posted at the beginning of this earlier thread:

Also, if possible go to the building where the department in which you hope to major is housed. For example if you wish to major in music, go get a look at the practice rooms, concert halls, and other music-related facilities.

Walk along the river by the residence Houses. For Cambridge be sure to walk through Harvard Square and look at the shops. Eat a burger at Bartley's and eat a seafood dinner at Legal Seafood.

Great advice coureur. Also see the Fogg and Busch-Reisinger art museums on campus for world-class paintings from Rembrandt to Matisse in an intimate setting (before the Fogg begins major renovations).

Also, I'd recommend the Natural History Museum, which has a famous exhibit of the "glass flowers," which are glass constructions of plants that are unbelievably realistic (they're as thin and as delicate as flowers).
