Visiting Homew slash driving

Okay, so how many people drive to college per say? Like I live in MN and driving to the east coast is easy enough, and it's nice to have a car as long as I can store it cheaply. How many people drive to get to college, or do you fly. Do you keep your car there? Or do you have someone drop you off or something?

Also, I take it you go and visit home on major holidays correct? Do you fly, drive, whatever. Anyone got any examples?

My son goes to school approx. 1300 miles from home. He drives TO school at the beginning of the year and FROM school to home at the end of the year. He flies home for all holidays.

I’m going to school much closer (from right outside NYC to Maryland (right outside DC)). I plan on driving down at the beginning, and definitely bringing my car home for any break longer than a weekend, because my hometown is impossible to get around with no car. For weekend visits, I’ll probably either fly or take a bus or train, which are all relatively cheap from DC to NY, but it depends on what city you’re going from/to.
