Doing a tour with my daughter in May. Any recommendations for lunch etc near campus that will help us a get a sense of the campus vibe? She would be applying in Fall for International relations. Thank you
If you like Middle Eastern food, Jerusalem (right near campus) is the best! Bonus: screened patio seating, which is lovely in nice weather. http://www.jerusalemrestaurant.com
If you head North on University Avenue from campus, you’ll get to Katherine’s, which is great for brunch or lunch, and Bonnie Brae Ice Cream across the street. Perhaps not middle-of-campus vibe, but if you’re looking for nearby variety, I can recommend both of those.

Mustard’s Last Stand or Illegal Pete’s are both near campus. The original Chipotle is a cool stopover even if you don’t eat there. Catch a Rockies game. The team is awful, but Coors Field has a great vibe and is popular hangout for college kids. Is your daughter into vinyl records? Twist & Shout or Wax Trax offer a great selection of new and used records. May weather should be gorgeous. Enjoy your visit!
