Visiting Inside Facilities

I have a question, I visited Penn a couple months ago and loved everything about it. I took a campus tour and went through the informational session. The only thing I wished that the tour guides would have done is bring us inside more of the facilities. We only got to see inside Huntsman Hall (barely: just the lobby) I believe, the library, and the huge auditorium. On other tours at other college campus' we were taken inside academia buildings, dining halls, residential halls, exercise rooms, gyms, got to see dorm rooms, etc. We didn't get to see any of this at Penn. Is there any way that I would be able to if I visited again? I saw that you needed to like swipe some card or something to get into all the facilities, but is that required for ALL of them? I really would like to see more inside. I can't even find any pictures on the internet as well (if there are any that you know of and if you can post them that would be great). Thanks

academic buildings don’t require swipe access during the day; houston hall is also generally open

swipe access is required for all dorms, all dining halls, gyms, and most other things

and if you can’t find pictures on google, you need to learn how to search better =p

try searching for “penn” and the name of the relevant building, such as “penn pottruck” or “penn quadrangle”

or, http://www.collegehouses.upenn.edu/brochure/collegehouses_09-10.pdf

incidentally most tours should have at least taken you inside quad, did you at least get to see that?

We went through the quad’s gates, but not inside the actual building. And yeah I have seen a million pictures of the buildings from the outside from google, but not so much the inside.

i’m not sure if you can specifically request a tour of interior facilities from the admissions office

a better option would be to ask security guards if they’ll let you in just a little to see things (for example this would be possible at hill and pottruck)

or, get a current student to help
