and your mode of travel?? Do you know where the state of IN is?

by car cuz we are doing a roadtrip kinda thing. i mean we are gonna find the directions but where should we visit other than the school itself? i wanna get to know bloomington before i go to teh freshmen orientation and hopefully meet some new ppl since my friend and i are from all the way in MD.

Bloomington is The Campus.......you could drive the short distance to Nashville and possilby to Lake Lemon or The Pointe but otherwise the campus is the town. http://www.iub.edu/tour/cvrs5.shtml

I'd fly if I were you. I wouldn't want to drive 12 hours to go to a college when a 1:30 flight is avaliable. If you book tickets now, it will cost around $200 per person.

Although... you'd probably have to connect somewhere.

But he/she is taking the SUV to school in the fall so driving now is a practice run. It isn't that difficult of a trip.....you'll be fine. Where will you stay overnite in Bloomington? I recommend The Union it is on campus and so convenient for you.

we are still looking for hotels and stuff.. lol how did you guess that i will be taking my SUV in the fall hazmat? we are doing it for the experience and time really isn't a factor so we would rather be on the road for a while and stop by every town and stuff. yea it is kind of intimidating cuz i have never driven that much but it should be fun

You said as much in a previous post. Are you considering staying at The Union on campus? The drive will be fine......it isn't that hard and you just need to note when major road changes occur so you don't miss them......heheh Actually it is an easy drive for the most part.

yea we just have our hotels booked at the holidays express. any suggestions about driving for a really long time by your self becuase i am letting my friend touch my car lol

I have taken several long trips and my suggestions are: tunes, snacks, phone, good maps. Take breaks and know your personal limits. I have for example on some long trips had to take a short snoozer and then could continue driving for a long period.

yes, take plenty of breaks and do some quick car maintenance before you leave (for example: adjusting tire pressure, oil change wouldn't hurt)

You ice on the beer and a pickle jar under the seat......hehehe
