visiting JHU

i've heard about JHU valuing prospective students visiting the campus. i'm planning on visiting in the coming weeks; i was just wondering how the adcom or whomever should know that you visited finds out that you visited? is there some kind of log book to sign?

Something like that...when I visited last summer they had departmental visits on the same day and I signed my name on a guestbook for the Mechanical Engineering open house.

Is this the same as a college visit? When I went to visit, there was no actual guestbook, instead I filled out a paper with my name, etc. and handed it back.

There is a desk inside Garland Hall where you check in, fill out a visit card, receive some brochures, and wait for a campus tour and information session. That serves as notice that you have visited. (Plus you can ask questions of the helpful person who is usually sitting at the desk. :) )

That's what I did! Lol... Does that show interest for JHU, when you come to one of their visits? On top of that, would it be helpful to get an interview as well? Thanks.

Sure, coming to an information session and filling out an interest card does show interest. :)

If you are on a campus visit, you may request an on-campus interview weekdays with an admissions counselor or student representative. An on-campus interview should be scheduled two weeks in advance.

If you do not schedule an on-campus interview or would prefer one in your home area, visit the JHU Admissions website starting Sept. 1 of the year you will be applying for admission and request an alumni interview in your area.

Interviews are optional and are intended as informational for the applicant. But I'd imagine that students motivated enough to schedule an interview are demonstrating interest in the school.

Thank you for the helpful information. Do you recommend any questions that I could ask about the school/alumni or interviewer? Should I be prepared to answer any questions that he/she may have?
