Visiting Northeastern

We would like to visit on Columbus Day weekend. I’m a bit surprised by the schedule, as they seem to have different majors on different days. They have all of their engineering sessions on Wednesdays? For those with a long drive this is very inconvenient. Is it even worth going for a 45 minute info session and a 1 hour tour? This is the first school we have looked at that doesn’t seem to have a few large open house days. We are going to wpi on Monday as they have a full day program. Am i missing something? Thanks.

The Explore Northeastern tours and presentations are offered every day and anyone can register for any day. The college specific sessions are in addition to the general program.

I went and visit penn state just for a meeting with an advisor, then stayed on campus for 1 hour. We left the same days it was a 4 hour drive

Thank you. Yes, I know they have things every day but it is only for 45 minutes. Not sure how much info we can gain from that. We would love to hear about engineering, but not on a Wednesday. The other schools we have visited have had a few all day presentations in the fall and spring.

You could also try getting in touch with the Department directly and see if there’s anything you could set up of you’re really interested. When I visited (speaking of my senior year), I was able to meet with a professor and set in on a class.
