Visiting Northwestren!

im visiting this college tomorrow and am wonderiing if anyone has any tips or advice as to what sights of experiences i should see or undergo while here!! thanks!

I will be there tomorrow too visiting our son! Since I'm a parent, I don't know all the names of all the buildings and sites to see, but I am sure some of the NU students can chip in here. Definitely spend some time looking around Evanston. Most of the area hotels, restaurants have maps of the town. There are some great restaurants to stop and have a meal. There is a store in Evanston that sells all kinds of NU apparel (apparel also be found in Norris bookstore, but I am not sure if they are open tomorow.)
When on campus, walk around the south campus dorm/sorority area - beautiful. After leaving there, cross the street and walk under the arch and wander around South campus. You'll find "the rock" there - not exciting to see, but one of those obligatory things to see. Several very nice old building around there. Since it will be a Saturday, I am not sure if any of them will be open though. Definetely look around the library. If you tell them you are visiting, they will let you through. Ask the people at the main desk how to get to the old area of the library- worth looking at. There is sunken/hidden garden outside of the library that is nice relaxing area. Norris, (student center) is right across from library. Check out the lagoon outside of Norris. If the weather is cooperative, there is a lovely path to walk along the lake. Great views of Chicago from there. When on North campus, you will see all the frats and North campus dorms. Most of the buildings here are science/enginering. The SPAC (athletic center ) is on North. Tell them there that you are touring, and they will let you wander around. Terrific facility.
The stadium and arena is about a mile away from the campus. I can't recall the name of the street it is on though. Hope this helps! Have a great time at NU tomorrow.
