Tonight was rather amusing, us preppies went up to the hill for Majors Night (where the Cadets pick their majors). This was my first "visit" to the academy. I think the funniest moment was when a 4 dig pulled me off to the side and in a hushed tone ask me what the blue shoulder boards we wore meant.

Of course, when I told them it meant we were preppies they stuck up their nose and stalked off. Totally worth it.

lol, i saw a bunch of people freaking out at your shoulder boards. ;) awesome.
2 of my best buds are preppies.

packermatt - That's great that you loved your Academy visit and are now even further motivated to get yourself there. But even if you are pretty certain you will get in, you should still visit some other schools (and all the service academies themselves always recommend this)....just in case something unexpected interferes with your dream. My son was reluctant to look at other places, but ended up really liking a state university and receiving a full AFROTC scholarship, as well as other academic scholarships. In the end, he is at USAFA afterall, but he had a strong back-up school where he could easily picture himself being challenged, engaged, and happy. I hope you get your dream as my son did, but don't be left without a promising Plan B as well.

Both my boys had good back-up schools though they were both very happy to go to AFA. We just ate the deposits - worth it in our opinions. They knew they would love the AFA, but their dad and I were spooked by "medical turnback ball" among other BCT hazards.

I still have backup plans...

AFROTC, etc.

missmuff who are your best buds?

So they really give out Form 10's for people who try to outrun the van?

They have to catch you first!!!
