I've narrowed my college list down quite a bit, but I've only visited one of the (in-state) schools. I don't have the money to fly around the country looking at colleges, but I know it's important to get a feel for them. What to do? Are there other good ways to get aquainted with a school?

Get an alumni interview in your area. Attend local events that the school holds to recruit from your area. Read the catalog and website. Some schools have email buddies, so that you can ask a current student questions (Brown does). Some schools have videos available. If you can't afford it, do not spend the money on visits.
