Visiting SDSU and Weber Honors College

My son has been admitted to SDSU and applied to Weber Honors College. He’s going to be in San Diego for the first time this weekend (we live in northern CA) and is thinking to visit SDSU and Weber Honors College to get a feel for the school and Honors experience. There are no official SDSU tours available this weekend. I emailed Weber Honors College to see what they suggest he visit and they gave me the self-guided SDSU tour brochure, nothing specific to Weber Honors.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what he should see/do to get a feel for what life might be like as an SDSU Honors College student? I was thinking at a minimum to look at Zura, the Honors dorm, maybe see if any bio labs are open (he’s accepted as a biology major and wants to do research).

Even better, is there anyone reading this who has a student now at Weber Honors who might want to introduce a stranger/prospective Weber Honors student to the campus/Honors experience? I also asked about that in my email to Honors but they didn’t suggest anything.

Thanks!

May want to post on reddit as well as I think more students read those. We have visited a few times as we are close by in OC. During the week the campus is bustling but can be pretty quiet on weekends - just letting you know so not turned off. You can definitely walk the campus - we think it’s pretty nice. Zura is really nice and a major reason my D applied to honors - secured access so will need to see if someone will escort him in for a tour.

The best chance to explore all facilities will be the 3/17 Explore SDSU - the main open house event of the year.
