Visiting this week!!!! What should I make sure to see?

Just read the title and answer the question.

Thanks so much.

If you are taking a tour you’ll see all the main campus sites. Take a walk down near Kenan Stadium, there’s construction going on but the area around it is beautiful…just past the clock tower.

On campus also take time to visit the Basketball museum in the Smith Center.

Off campus take in Franklin St though in the summer it is pretty dead when compared to when school is in session. If your mom is going make sure she sees “A Southern Season” it’s a store that she will love.

If you need restaurant advice let me know.

I can’t remember if it’s on the tour or not, but the Ackland is worth a look. If you’re walking down Franklin away from the university, take a left on Columbia.

If you like basketball, you can stop by the basketball museum if it’s open. Franklin Street…walk down at least to University square.

also try to get into the smith center. both times i’ve visited it was open and we got to get really close to the floor. it’s pretty cool

The classics collection in Wilson library.

Although you will take a quick walk around the campus, try to go back for yourself to the places that really interest you, the campus is enormous and is stunningly beautiful. Also, a lot of times campus tour does not include the South campus, where a lot of the dorms along with the Business school are located. If you are interested in that I would make sure to take the 15-20 minute walk there (or bus ride) to see it. Also, I would try to visit the school you will be studying in. If you are a very social person, you could talk to some of the students there to get the feel for it, or maybe say hey to a few faculty members who you might end up working with later on.
