Visiting UMD as a prospective student - Admitted student days

Son will be visiting UMD on Apr 2nd and 3rd. So far he is planning on sitting in on two CS classes and have lunch with one of the professors on Apr 2nd. He has another couple meetings with professors after the Admitted student open house activities for Apr 3rd. What else should he/we plan on looking into while we are there? Is it possible to check out the dorm specific to his LLP?

My S will also be visiting UMD but cannot attend on the special admitted student days. He is admitted to CS and into the ACES program. He will be visiting mid-April during spring break and it would be great to compare notes. By the way, I understand the ACES students and the program offices are all housed in Prince Frederick Hall and you will probably be able to see the dorm as part of your arranged special activities.

@CAparent1‌ My S has also been admitted to ACES. I am hoping that they have a tour of Prince Frederick Hall planned for the afternoon of the admitted student day. The ACES info session is likely to be at some central location (like the Stamp student Union). My S is meeting a few profs from the Programming Languages research group and we might see if there is some way to talk to students from their ACM chapter or check out a CS specific club or two. I will message you after returning from our visit.

My son will be going to the admitted student day April 10th and is also in the Computer Science program. What is ACES? He already accepted his admission. Did not arrange any meetings with professors or anything since he already knows he is going. I am new at all of this. What is ACM? Thanks guys.

ACES is an honors program. http://www.aces.umd.edu/
