hi, I'm going to be visiting during labor day weekend (sry, but it's the only time i'm able to get off from my job) but none of the schools have tours/info sessions that day. Would it still be worth to go? What should I be doing there to make up for the tours/info sessions? Thanks a lot!
Going to
UPenn
UVa
Gtown
JHU

I took the tour of JHU and in my experience the tour guide wasn't that great and we didn't see too much (they didn't show us the dorms, very odd). I think I would have been fine with just walking around myself. the information session was pretty decent but I think you'd be fine with just researching it yourself..
I live 2 hrs from baltimore so I didn't really need to know too much about the area surrounding campus from the tour guide (thus making him more obsolete), but again you could probably find that out yourself if you haven't been there. (baltimore isn't the safest city btw)

Even though it is Labor Day and the places are "officially" closed the students are back and getting ready for classes to start so there will be people there. Some schools have a visitors/info desk with maps and brochures. Or at least visit the bookstore or eateries. If you are lucky you may find some friendly students who can give you some feedback on why they came there.
